because i've had so many inquiries (i've had none) about my blog lately, i've decided to take sarah's tag (sar, when you said "it's YOUR turn" you were referring to me, right? okay, good.) and finally lay all of the rumors to rest.
1. Why did you start your blog?
two reasons...to be funny and to offend people.
no, no. that is what i tell everyone, but really it's because i have an incredibly hard time focusing all of my energy and attention on just one thing (you know, like my children). so, blogging is really just another way to divert my attention from my real life. what? i'm not neglecting my life, i just like to escape from it every(day) now and then. it's good for me. i swear.
2. How did you come up with your blog name?
a letter to elise by the cure. best lyrics ever written. (and because robert smith looks totally hot in lipstick.)
3. Do your friends and family know about your blog? What do they think of it?
oh, they love it. they think i'm pretty awesome (and i can say that because i know for sure that none of them will read it).
4. How do you write posts?
i type them. (i'm confused. how do other people do it?)
5. Have you ever had a troll or had to delete unkind comments?
no. unfortunately not. you know that you've really made it in the blogging world once you've had your first rude anonymous post. i'm not there yet.
6. Do you check your stats? Do you care how many people read your blog? If you do care, how to you increase traffic?
i wouldn't even know how to check my stats. nor would i want to (could someone please tell me how i check my stats. i need to check my stats!).
and i guess i could increase traffic by adding a friends link list, but i'm too embarrassed by the small amount of blogging friends i actually have or i don't want to be boastful about the plethora of people i know. i guess you'll never know which one it is (it's the first.)
7. What kind of blogs/posts interest you?
i enjoy reading anything that's well-written. and as long as there's creativity, humor or insight involved, then i'm interested in reading about it.
if you're constantly posting about shopping dates with friends, how perfect your kids are and how much you love your husband, then i've probably stopped reading. not that i don't believe your picture perfect life (i'm sure it's true.), but i just find it boring (and obnoxious).
and despite my own hobby with sewing, i'm not interested in any blogs that are craft related (you know, like my other blog. i totally wouldn't read it if it wasn't mine.). i've never been a fan of crafting. and i think it's because i associate it with the "christmas in july" styrofoam snowmen being made at R.S. enrichment nights. (forgive me enrichment committee, but i'm petitioning that the church does away with anything craft related. it's really just junk that you end up putting on your wall next to the junk made at last month's enrichment night. it's silly.)
8. What do you like and dislike about blogging?
i like: that i've gotten to know people that i would of never had the chance to know if it wasn't for the world wide web. (and the ability to spy on random people. seriously? how awesome is that?)
also, i've always enjoyed writing and taking pictures, so i like having a platform to share my hobbies with others who have the same interests as me. (to feed my own ego, of course.)
i dislike: when it takes up all of my free time (and when my friends are funnier than me. those jerks.).
