our most basic instinct is not for survival but for family

day 15.

we've never known where our elliot came from before now.
he doesn't resemble his mother, father, grandparents, cousins. - an orphan.
then looking through old photos this week we saw him for the first time.
he's her. almost identical.

he's our wheat field.

I wonder if she saw herself in him, and never mentioned it, maybe she was waiting for us to see it.

maybe that's why she loved him the best.

i had to come back, to look at this picture once more.

your writing lately has been so perfect, and your perspective is refreshing... "our most basic instinct is not for survival but for family." how clear, how true.

one more day, and then you can begin the healing process.

love you.

YOU ARE AMAZING AND EVERYTHING I ALWAYS KNEW YOU WERE...A BROKEN HEART AND DEEP SADNESS OFTEN BRINGS YOUR REAL INNER SELF TO THE SURFACE--SOME ARE SURPRISED AT SEEING THIS SIDE OF YOU--I AM NOT--I HELD YOUR CURLY HEAD SO MANY YEARS AGO AND I KNEW!

LOVE YA, THE MOM
