how to gracefully disappear in a room

i've been thinking about it for a while now and i really wish there was another way to imply "i'm only kidding", than the ;). it's almost as bad as winking in real life. gross. there needs to be a specific text style reserved for sarcastic rhetoric. but, i guess that would defeat the purpose of it's subtlety...and i'm usually very subtle. ;)
