2 o'clock church might be the worst thing that's ever happened to me

but the first day of preschool? that's easily the best.

first day of preschool

i think the countdown to all day (oh all-hallelujah day!) kindergarten is somewhere around 550. only 550+ more days to go. i can do that. and i can pretty much guarantee that i won't be the mom shedding tears in the elementary school parking lot as i send my little baby off into the world. i may in fact, be the mom you see doing heel clicks all the way back home.

some sentiments are just lost on me.

i have come to the conclusion that there is nothing better than sending your kid off to school. even if it's just for 3 short, but blissfully quiet hours.

all matchy matchy with the hat, sweater, AND mittens? i wouldn't have thought you the type. those pictures make my heart melt though. what a cute kid. (along as he's not bugging me to play playdough or asking to go to the chicken place {i don't even know what that is!})

matchy-matchy -- totally his call.

chicken place -- anderson's. they've got chickens.

see, now, I am totally the teary-type. in fact, I have already shed a tiny tear or two, more of a mist really, over the idea of the baby girl starting kindergarten. yeup she's two.

and even seeing owen all ready for preschool makes me teary and having visions of my perfect nephews face when he was just a few hours old.... he was such a beautiful baby. sigh. I miss arizona.

of course, probably by the time she is five I will be quite ready to send her off for a bit.

oh behalf of pre-school teachers everywhere... thank you.
you have no idea how long it takes to get a crying mom out of the classroom.
but, there is a fine balance of good pre-school mom. will you be the one who forgets show and tell? or the one who never sends napkins for snack day?
(sadly, i'll probably be one of them.)

You are so funny! I am with you on the school thing though. Lauren just started back to preschool this week after a two week break and it has been SO nice. I really thought I would have a hard time with her going to preschool everyday but I love it and the surprising thing is she loves it even more!

2 o'clock church the worst, who's idea it was, don't know, wish i did because i would tell them that 2 o'clock is a bad idea especially for mom's with little children. that's when nappy nap time is, hello!

I hear ya on the heel clicks. Who the heck cries when their kid goes to school. I shed a tear when summer break begins...3 whole months stuck inside because it's a sweltering 120 degrees out. And...all day kindergarten is growing on me too. I know, I'm a cold hearted mom!

BTW, last post was me Tiff. I'm sure you'd figured that out though.

We just entered the 1:00 church slot and I think I might have to go inactive or get rid of Gus.

wow, his ensemble is so catalog... but totally digging it. i'd totally wear that... is that weird?

maybe i can come hang at your house after i drop ava off at kindergarten so you can console me and tell me how lame and irrational i'm being. 550 days just seems too soon.

I am stoked about sending the kiddo(s) to school and yes there will be tears...but once I get home I will be clicking my heels and then wondering what the heck to do with all of my free time.
